Iditarod Sled Dog Race

Day 1:
Arrive in Anchorage, Alaska, the State’s primary airport for out of state flights. We'll meet you the night you arrive at our favorite local Bed & Breakfast. It's centrally located, exceptional and in easy walking distance to all the best downtown establishments. Tonight we’ll attend the mushers’ banquet. We provide lodging.

Day 2:
Today we’ll depart in the morning for a 2 hour drive to Seward and an exiting cruise of Kenai Fjords National Park. Whales and Glaciers characterize this marine park. Overnight in Girdwood, located 30 minutes south of Anchorage at the Alyeska Prince Hotel.

Day3:

We’ll spend today at the start of the Iditarod in Anchorage. You’ll see the mushers racing their dogs on the first days sprint to the first checkpoint. You also have the option of visiting the Museum of Natural History this evening. Overnight in Anchorage.

Day 4:
Today we’ll depart for Wasilla and the second start of the race. You’ll visit the Iditarod museum and overnight in the small village of Talkeetna, located near the base of Denali mountain. Overnight at a deluxe lodge offering exceptional food, hot tubs and views of the mountain!

Day 5:
After a relaxing morning viewing the “Great One”, Denali mountain, we’ll visit a local dog musher for some hands on fun! Options include a morning flight seeing tour of Denali. Overnight in Anchorage at the same Bed and Breakfast as before!

Day 6:
Fly home with a lifetime of great memories! Options include chartered bush flights to the remote checkpoints along the trail and the finish line celebrations in Nome!

Meals are not included in tour package.
